Albena Browning

Albena Browning, age 97, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2025 in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on April 12, 1928 in Tribune, Kansas, the daughter of Matthew and Madelyn Bender Pfeifer. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1950, moving from Tribune, Kansas. She was a cosmetologist and hair dresser most of her life.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas, and participated in the St. Joseph altar society. Additionally, she was a dedicated Denver Broncos fan.

On June 7, 1950 she married Orville G. Browning in Seneca, Kansas. He passed away on March 18, 1992 in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her Two Sons - Larry and Michelle Browning of Granbury, Texas, Gary “Pix” and Laurie Browning of Castle Rock, Colorado, One Daughter - Pamela Browning of Casa Grande, Arizona, Nine Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Two sisters - Matilda Kleyman, Barbra Moran, One Brother - Edward Bender.

Vigil Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Fr. Don Bedore presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Park Lane Nursing home, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City Shriners or the Scott County Hospital in care of Price and Sons, P.O. Box 552, Scott City, KS 67871.

Public Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025 and 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
