C. Ernie Ortiz, age 69, died on September 12, 2019 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.  He was born on November 24, 1949 in Garden City, Kansas the son Nicholas, Sr. and Mary Louise Ortiz.  He was the owner and operator of El Conquistador Restaurant in Garden City, Kansas.

Ernie was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the church choir.

David M. Ortiz of Garden City, Kansas

Six Sisters Martha Ortiz Sanchez of Wichita, Kansas

Barbara Jean Ortiz Bowen of Omaha, Nebraska

Betty Jo Ortiz Herme of Santa Clarita, California

Carole Sue Ortiz Ramos of Wichita, Kansas

Annette M. Ortiz of Garden City, Kansas

31 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Nick Ortiz, Jr.; Edward Ortiz; Glen Ortiz; one sister, Yvonne Ortiz Vasquez.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 10-8 on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Price & Sons Funeral Home.
