Cheryln Eileen Whinery

Cheryln Eileen Whinery, age 76, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Grand Plains Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Assisted Living Facility in Pratt, Kansas. She was born on October 7, 1949 in Scott City, Kansas to Clifton P. And Joy (Kirk) Ottaway. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas. Cheryln married John Elisha Levi on December 26, 1965.

Cheryln graduated from Scott City High School in 1967. She worked as a nursing assistant at Park Lane Nursing Home. She took classes in floral arrangement and later earned a nutrition and heath degree through Barton County Community College. She worked as a cook at the Scott County VIP Center, and later as a desk clerk for the Airliner Motel. She was a member of EHU, and a China painting club. She loved playing cards, especially with her grandchildren, doing word searches, her dogs, decorating for Christmas and wrapping presents.

She is survived by her husband, John Levi, and her daughter, Elaine (Thomas Elwin) Bell of Pratt; grandsons, Jadon Bell of Cunningham, Zaxon and Tavon Bell of Pratt; brothers Clifton Kirk (Janet) of Hays, Kansas and Harlan (Jill) of Citrus Heights, California.

Cheryln is preceded in death by her parents Clifton P. in 1996 and Joy E. in 2007.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas, with Steve Payne presiding.

Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the VIP Center in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Interment will be held in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
