Clive J. “C.J.” Sharpe, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on September 5, 1931, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Clive Gay and Nellie Marguerite Scott Sharpe. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a retired teacher and coach.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas, and was a US Army Veteran. Starting in 1959, CJ taught math in Coolidge, Kansas, Herndon, Kansas, and then retiring in 1990 from Scott City, Kansas. He was passionate about sports, both as an athlete and coach. CJ enjoyed gardening, reading, playing pitch and he especially loved his grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews and playing with their 32 kids as they grew up.
On August 18, 1964, he married Charlene M. Brown in Herndon, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Charlene Sharpe of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Christina M. Sharpe of Fishers, Indiana, One Son - C. Justin & Heather Sharpe of Gilbert, Arizona, Four Brothers - Harley & Ora Sharpe of Scott City, Kansas, Harry & Virginia Sharpe of Scott City, Kansas, John Sharpe of Loveland, Colorado, Hiriam Sharpe of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sisters - Thada V. Holt of Hurricane, Utah, Helen & Bill Ackley of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Three Grandchildren - Maddisen Sharpe of Fishers, Indiana, Spencer Sharpe of Fishers, Indiana, and Jarod Sharpe of Gilbert, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, and Three Sisters - Vivian, Myrtle, and Trilla.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas with Steve Payne presiding. Services will be Live -Streamed on Price & Sons Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 10:25 a.m. Monday.
Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Scott Community Foundation in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes.
