Connie jean Kessler passed away on Friday, March 6 2026. Born Connie Jean Chapman on February 5, 1945 in Lawrence, Kansas to Virgil and Naomi Chapman.
Connie attended schools in Scott City, Ks. She married Larry Funk in 1962. To this union was born two set of twins, Tamera Lee, Pamela Dee, Trevor Gene and Travess Dean.
Connie owned and operated Connie's Boutique in Scott City, Ks for many years. She pursued a nursing degree and attended college ,
She married Hilary Kessler on June 17, 1989 in Scott City. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed a blended family for 36 ½ years. Connie and her sister, Bonnie, played keyboards for many dances in the area , Hilary served as the band chauffeur and graciously hauled the equipment and danced with all the ladies.
In their younger years they traveled with a lot of their friends.
Connie enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, painting writing poetry and cooking. She had many, many talents.
Connie was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Bonnie Bruner, a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Funk. A step-son, Marc Kessler and a step-grandson, Brent Kessler.
Connie's children include Tamera Turley of Scott City, Pamela and Lewis Brown of Clinton, Missouri, Trevor Funk or Garden City and Travess and Mary Funk of Garden City.
She is also survived by step-daughters Jana and Kenton Harkness of Garden City and Lori and Jerry Montgomery of Saint George, Kansas.
Connie had 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and 9 step-grandchildren, 24 step=great grandchildren and 7 step-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas. Internment will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City , Kansas.
There will be no visitation time.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the First Christian Church in Scott City or the Scott Community Foundation in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
