Danny “Dan” Neil Donovan, age 75, passed away on April 15, 2023, at the Adara Living nursing home in Bloomfield, Colorado. He was born to Claude Oren & Beulah Rebecca Hagstrom Donovan in Syracuse, Kansas on October 2, 1947. He was a graduate of Greeley County High School. He earned a degree in Wildlife Management from Western Colorado University.

Dan entered service to his country by enlisting in the Army and was trained at the Bomb disposal school in Indian Head, Maryland. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska before serving 19 months in Vietnam and then returning back to the States at Fort Carson, Colorado. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Commendation Metal, the Vietnam service medal, and the EOD badge. 

After receiving a medical discharge, Dan became a farmer and crop insurance adjustor. 

He was a lifelong member of the VFW, NRA, and FFA Alumni and continued serving his community for over 30 years as an EMT on the Greeley County Volunteer Fire Department. 

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (mtn) at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the FFA in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 161, Leoti, Kansas 67861.

There will be no visiting hours.
