Darla Lynn Amerine

Darla Lynn Amerine, age 77, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on April 8, 1948 in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Clyde and Ethel Schoeni Shinkle. She was a resident of Scott City, Kansas for the past forty-six years moving from Colby, Kansas. She dedicated the majority of her career as a chiropractic assistant before transitioning to a position at the Scott County Public Library, where she worked until her retirement two years ago.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas. She participated in the Ruth group, the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF), and served as a deaconess. Darla greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In her free time, she appreciated crocheting and cross-stitching. Additionally, she made prayer shawls for City on the Hill.

On January 26, 1969 she married Ronald Amerine in Goodland, Kansas. He survives.

Survivors include her Husband - Ronald Amerine of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - David and Marva Amerine of Mead, Colorado, Chad and Amanda Amerine of Scott City, Kansas, Four Granddaughters - Makayla and Irving Reyes of Scott City, Kansas, Chelsea and Jose Alvarez of Scott City, Kansas, Hailee and Seth Gomes of Scott City, Kansas, Jaidyn Amerine of Scott City, Kansas, One Grandson - Jerron Amerine of Mead, Colorado, and Seven Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents and Grandparents.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m Saturday, January 3, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with Rodney Hopper and Steve Payne presiding.

Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the Darla Amerine Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Interment will be in the Goodland Cemetery at 4:00 p.m central time (3:00 p.m MTN), located at 434 N. Main Ave. across from the Sherman County Fairgrounds.

Visitation will be from 12:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
