David Andrew "Andy" Newland

David Andrew “Andy” Newland, age 55, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at his home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on January 21, 1970, in Abilene, Kansas, the son of Jerry Bob & Catherine Thompson Newland. A resident of Scott City, Kansas, since 2006, moving from Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, he was a retired Police Officer.

He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas. Andy was very active in law enforcement throughout his career. He was a firearms instructor, K-9 Handler, worked with the Kansas Highway Patrol, was part of a Swat Team, and he started his career as a Correctional Facility Officer.

Survivors include his Spouse - Suzy Patty of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons - Gregory Newland of Dighton, Kansas, Christopher Williamson of Corpus Christi, Texas, One Daughter - Katy Newland of Wichita, Kansas, One Granddaughter - Lilith Newland of Wichita, Kansas, Parents - Jerry & Cathy Newland of Silver Lake, Kansas, One Sister - Jenny White of Pegram, Tennessee, Four other Siblings, Two Aunts, One Cousin, and Several Nieces & Nephews.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
