David Ray Underwood

David Ray Underwood, 48, of Garden City, passed away on December 14, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS due to head injuries sustained from a fall. He was born August 2, 1968 to Larry and Dorothy Underwood in Garden City. After graduation, he attended the Art Institute of Dallas, TX. He then went on to truck driving for his father and various others for 25 years. He enjoyed tinkering with his motorcycles and RC model airplanes. On September 5, 1992, he married his best friend Leanne Marie Nelson at the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors include: Three Children Zach Underwood of Garden City, Kansas Holly Underwood of Garden City, Kansas Tonya and Tim White of Lakin, Kansas Three Grandchildren Jennabelle, Levi, and Tatum of Lakin Mother Dorothy Rouse of Boiling Springs, North Carolina One Sister Patricia Underwood Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas One Niece Jennifer Cummins of Wallace, Kansas One Nephew Derek and Elisabeth Stegman of Olathe, Kansas Three Great Nieces Shayla and Emilee Rebecca Three Great Nieces Blayne, Micah, and Daniel Grandmother Betty Finuf of Garden City, Kansas Aunt Retta Underwood of Garden City, Kansas He was preceded in death by his father, Larry N. Underwood, brother, Larry Jr., grandfather, Loren Underwood, and grandparents Ray and Doris Humphries. Open calling will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 10-8 with the family present from 6-8 at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
