Dorothea (Dottie) Mae Kline, age 88, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on February 10, 1929 the daughter of Harold L. and Edna Mae Gardener Slaughter in Big Springs, Kansas. After graduating from Perry High School and Clark’s Business School she worked for the US Department of agricultural as a Statistical Clerk. Dottie was a member of the Garden City Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women, Circle II, past member of several Lineage and Patriotic Societies, and a charter member of the Finney County Genealogical Society. She also enjoyed music, reading, and traveling. In 1962 she moved to Garden City, Kansas with her husband. On September 17, 1950, she married Wilmer “Bill” G. Kline in Nashua, Iowa. He died on November 25, 1990. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Half Sister, Ruth L. Decker, and a brother Harold R. Slaughter. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm, February 16, 2017 at the Presbyterian Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Denise Pass officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas at 1:30 pm, Friday, February 17, 2017. Visitation will be held from 11-8 on Wednesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Kline Family Education Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home; 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846.
