Elvira Carrion

Elvira Carrion, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Fair Acres Manor in Greeley, Colorado. Born March 23, 1923 in Maxwell, New Mexico, the daughter of Emiterio & Juanita Martinez Chavez. A former Leoti resident, she had been a Greeley, Colorado resident since 2005 moving from Topeka, Kansas. She served at Wichita County Hospital as a C.N.A. for 20 years. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness On April 1, 1940 she married Gilbert Maestes at Raton, New Mexico. He passed away in 1964. She married Robert Carrion in 1969 at Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on August 8, 1983. Surviving family members include Two sons- Ronnie Maestes- Wichita, Kansas Henry Maestes- Pasco, Washington Six daughters- Evangeline Hatfield- Topeka, Kansas Alice Palacios- Greeley, Colorado Esther Rocha- Sterling, Illinois Barbara Mesa- Manhattan, Kansas Rosella Harris- Golden Valley, Arizona Catherine Millen- Pratt, Kansas Numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and three sisters. Private services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling times. Memorials may be given to the Elvira Carrion memorial fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
