Garold "Doc" Farr Sr., age 86, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on September 19, 1920 in Meade County, Kansas the son of Thomas W. and Clara B. Brundige Farr. A resident of Garden City since 1964 moving from Walnut, California he was a self employed mechanic.
He was a member of the protestant faith and was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.
On June 22, 1947, he married Bessie G. Cannon at Winona, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Sons, Garold Farr Jr. of Garden City, Kansas and Marvin D. Farr of Emporia, Kansas. One Brother, J.D. Farr of Garden City, Kansas. Six Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren, 3 Step-Grandchildren and 11 Step-Great-Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas with the Rev. Charles West presiding.
Friends may call from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City and from 1:00 pm-8:00 pm Sunday and 10:00 am-8:00 pm Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
The family requests memorials be given to the Garold Farr Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
