Gwen E. Huck, age 84, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on August 11, 1941, in Coldwater, Kansas, the daughter of Ray L. & Helen Maris Burditt. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1962 moving from Winfield, Kansas, she was a homemaker and the Director of Christian Education at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas.
Gwen graduated college with a BA from Southwestern College in 1964, Perkins Theological Seminary, Certificate of Christian Education 1990.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas, Christian Education Fellowship, and High Plains Study Club. Gwen began and directed the Scott County Easter Pageant, "The Road to Redemption", 28 times between 1971 and 2015. She was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years and Director of Christian Education at the First United Methodist Church for 25 years. Gwen also was a DJ host for KFLA Radio: "Spin The Afternoon with Gwen".
On August 7, 1960, she married Larry Huck in Coldwater, Kansas. He passed away on December 26, 2020, in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include her Two Sons - Galen & Mary Kay Huck of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Lance & Irene Huck of Denver, Colorado, One Daughter - Suzanne & Chad Griffith of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister - Kathy & Dan Desemo of Alden, Kansas, Ten Grandchildren - Corey Huck, Shaelee Huck, Ian Huck, Elizabeth Janssen, Catherine Huck, Asher Huck, Brinlee McNary, Maris Unruh, Cooper Griffith, and Gui Griffith, and Fourteen Great Grandchildren - Ruby, Theo, and Mabel Huck, Sylvie and George Keyworth, Anne and Truman Janssen, Rowan Huck, Jude McNary, Spencer, Remi and Campbell Unruh, Laramie and Noah Griffith.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and One Nephew - Ryan Desemo.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Dr. Galen Huck and Jeff Goetzinger presiding.
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the Alliance Breadbasket or Hope Lives Ministry in Lira, Uganda in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
