Jackie moved to Tribune, Kansas, with her mom, Olive, and sister Gladys in 1944. She was a graduate of Greeley County High School, class of 1951. She married Lester (Les) Hutchins on December 24, 1950. They were married for 61 years and resided in Tribune the majority of that time. Les passed away on August 7, 2012, in Sun City, Arizona.
Jackie had various jobs, including being a bus driver, hair stylist, clerical worker, co-owner of a TV sales/repair store, and a harvest crew cook. She also worked for 19 years at the ASCS office in Tribune, retiring from there in 1997.
In her younger days, she liked to bowl, camp, cook, fish, play cards, and sew. She blessed all of her family and friends with many fun times in the “big house” in Tribune. Her grandchildren will always treasure the memory of “camp grandma,” the Texas-hat-shaped hot tub, being across from the town swimming pool, and driving with grandma. After retiring, she enjoyed a variety of crafts and many of her great-grandchildren’s sports and events. She was a member of the Methodist Church, attended the Red Hats group, and visited the Senior Center for coffee and/or cards daily. She was very generous, kind, loving, and devoted to her family.
Jackie is survived by three daughters, Cindy Neuschwander (Taylor) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Waynette Moreland (Jim) of Overgaard, Arizona, Denise Phillips (Allen) of Tribune, Kansas; seven grandkids, Chrissy Isles (Mike), Tandi Wells (Matt), Becky Palisuri (Andi), Lacy Davenport (Mark), Austin Moreland (Krista), Wesley Phillips (Holly), Kayla Phillips; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
