James A. Chambers

James A. Chambers, age 85, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on June 7, 1940, in Ellis, Kansas, the son of Clifford and Ida Strong Chambers. A resident of Scott City, Kansas, since 1994, moving from Hill City, Kansas, he was a retired oil field worker.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.

On November 25, 1961, he married Shirley Jean Ziegler in Collyer, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Shirley Chambers of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter, Shelly & Clinton Wiley of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - James X. Chambers of Friend, Kansas, Eight Grandchildren, and Five Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Sons - Gregory Chambers and Andrew Chambers, Three Brothers, and Two Sisters.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Fr. Don Bedore presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
