Janice Lavonne Rewerts

Janice Lavonne Rewerts, age 84, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on December 29, 1941, in Scott City, Kansas, to Harry & Grace Zink Smith. Janice wore many hats; she was a licensed hairdresser, hotel owner, filling station owner, member of the Red Hat Purple Dress Society, and a founding member of the genealogy society and Share and Care. She volunteered at the Thrift Shop, and was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Leoti, Kansas.

On October 7, 1961, Janice married Dallas Hahn. He passed away on November 2, 1987. On December 12, 1992, she married Ellis Warren Rewerts. He passed away on March 26, 2017.

Janice is survived by her children, Susan Stokes, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Lisa Ruda of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dennis Hahn of Roxborough Park, Colorado, grandchildren, Madison Ruda of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ethan Ruda of Hays, Kansas, Anna Hahn of Roxborough Park, Colorado, Ava Hahn of Roxborough Park, Colorado, Brian Stokes of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and sisters, Zada Weilert of Leoti, Kansas, and Nina Wewer of Leoti, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Dallas and Ellis, and one son, Robbie.

Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Fellowship Church in Leoti, Kansas, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with pastor Terry Laws presiding. Committal will follow at the Leoti Cemetery. Services will be live-streamed at https://evt.live/rewertsservice. 

Public Visitation will be on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Price & Sons Funeral Home, 202 N. 4th St., Leoti, Kansas.
