Scott City, Kansas
Larry Evan Turley, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his home in Hoxie, Kansas. He was born on December 6, 1961, in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Gary Earl Turley Sr. and Catherine Ann (Bennett) Turley. He spent his early years in Scott City, Kansas, and later relocated multiple times before settling in Hoxie, Kansas, where he called home. He spent most of his life as a blue-collar worker, owning a Construction Company, working in the oil fields, and as a heavy equipment operator.
He loved playing Canasta, cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, fishing, camping, and playing pool.
On June 23, 1989 he married Pamela J. Sanderson in Greeley, Colorado. She passed away on March 30, 2023, in Delta, Colorado.
Survivors include One Daughter - Sonya and Chad Pace of Stratton, Colorado, One Son - Evan Turley of Hoxie, Kansas, - Two sons Eric Hoyda of Cope, Colorado, Cory Hoyda of Torrington, Wyoming, Two Daughters - Shannon & Christy Hoyda of Burlington, Colorado,Brothers - Gary Jr. Turley of Arkansas & Alan Nickerson of Evans, Colorado and Father Gary Turley Sr , and Multiple Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his Wife & Mother.
A Celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m Central Time Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Kyle Evans presiding.
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the Larry Turley Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
Interment will take place at the Scott County Cemetery following services
