Lewis Semmel

Lewis Eugene Semmel passed away on May 22, 2023 at his home in Lamar, Colorado at the age of 85.  He was born on January 22, 1938 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Adolf and Mary (May) Semmel.

Lewis had owned and operated Scotty’s Body Shop, was a volunteer firefighter, drove the activity bus and a regular route for Scott Community Schools in Scott City, Kansas later moving to Goddard, Kansas where he drove a regular school bus route and was a camp host at Cheney Lake. 

He is survived by five daughters, one adopted daughter, one foster son, three siblings, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Monty and Marsha Turley and their family who provided care for Lewis for the last several years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. CST at Price & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Don Williams officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
