Mary Kathryn Joseph, age 94, died September 29, 2018 at the Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City, Kansas.  She was born June 15, 1924 in Lane County, Kansas the daughter of Arthur and Velma Downs Wallace.

On October 24, 1942 she married Gilbert L. Joseph in Garden City, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on January 22, 1971.

Mary was a homemaker raising her children.  She later worked as a cook at the Larned State Hospital and later as a seamstress in Garden City for many years.  She enjoyed playing cards at the Finney County Senior Center, water exercise at the YMCA, playing games on her computer, and was a member of the Ambassador Singers and the Christian faith.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Kathy) Joseph of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and daughters Rosanna (John) Harris of Delta, Colorado and Kay (George) Elmore of Larned.  A sister, Rosalee Malaby, of Warwick, Rhode Island also survives.  Other survivors include grandchildren Carol (David) Ballantine of Fort Collins, Colorado; Scott Elmore of Wichita; Christina Arnone (Michael) of Kearney, Missouri; and four step-grandchildren.  She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, twenty great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by brothers Charles F. Wallace, Harry Wallace, Hubert Wallace, a sister, Ruby Marie Kauffman, a granddaughter, Stacy Elmore Berends, and a step-grandson.

Services will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.

Memorials are suggested to the YMCA in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Kansas.
