Robert D. “Bob” Miller, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on September 1, 1935 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Ralph Dewey and Lavon Oleeta Hunt Miller. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a rancher and farmer. Bob was an Army National Guard Motor Pool (specialist) for eight years during peace time.
When Bob was six years old, he attended Pyramid View Country school in Gove, County, completing first and second grade. He moved to Scott City and attended Scott City Grade school, 3rd-8th grade. He graduated from Scott City High School in 1953. He attended two years at Fort Hays State University at Hays, Kansas and transferred to New Mexico A & M at Las Cruces, New Mexico where he graduated in 1958 with a B.S. Degree in Range Management. Bob has been in the Scott City community since the age of eight, having moved from the family ranch in Gove County in 1943. The government wanted the ranch land and other Gove County properties to be used for an aerial gunnery range so they had to move to town. He had fond memories of living at the ranch and spending summers there after moving to Scott City.
Bob was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Registered Hereford Association, Kansas Buffalo Association, Gideon International and the First Baptist Church, Scott City, KS. Bob served as a leader in Boy's Club, a fourth and fifth grade Sunday School teacher, trustee, and usher. He participated in mission trips to the Navajo Reservation in Low Mountain, Arizona. He was active in the Baptist Church Disaster Relief Program. He was a volunteer with Wycliffe Bible Association and went to Bogota, Columbia on a work mission trip. Bob was also a volunteer for the local boy scouts troop. For ten years he was co-owner with his sister, Karen Hoover, of The Brotherhood Bookshelf, a Christian bookstore in Scott City. Bob also achieved the Gove County Kansas Bankers Association Award in 1969, Soil Conservation Award in Gove County in 1995, and Soil Conversation Award in Gove County in 1999. He received the Kansas Bankers Association Award Soil Conservation Program Windbreak Award in 2004.
On April 8, 1972 he married Elizabeth L. Kottmann in Lyons, Kansas. She survives.

Miller of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Joel & Dr. Calista Miller of Scott City, Kansas, Four Daughters - Kristi & Chris Gorman of Lacey, Washington, Heather & Mark Dick of Aurora, Nebraska, Meredith & Chandler Cupp of Scott City, Kansas, Lindsay & Scott Andrews of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Gary Miller of Loveland, Colorado, One Sister - Karen & Ken Hoover of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother In Law - Lou & Mary Kottmann of Great Bend, Kansas, One Sister In Law - Lyn & David Britton of Viroqua, Wisconsin, Twelve Grandchildren - Jaden Gorman, Grace & Isaiah Harrison, Josiah Gorman, Alex Dick, Nathan Dick, William & Dalsy Cupp, Malorie Cupp, Jace Miller, Jocelyn Miller, Maylee Miller, Natalie Andrews, Abby Andrews and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Sister - Vada Jean Miller, One Grandson, James Edward Cupp, and One Sister-in-law - Joye Miller.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Chris Gorman presiding.

Interment will be at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
