Robert Duane Wheeler, age 85, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Parklane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on June 21, 1941, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Quincy and Ressa Conine Wheeler. He is a lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, and worked in telecommunications at AT&T most of his life.
Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas, NRA, was a past City Councilman; and was past President of the Girls Softball Association.
On November 25, 1961, he married Neta Turley at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Neta Wheeler of Scott City, Kansas, Three Daughters - Richelle and Richard Roth of Larned, Kansas, Tracy and Mike Hess of Scott City, Kansas, Jacque and Marty Griffey of Overland Park, Kansas, One Brother - Rodney and Pam Wheeler of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister - Rhonda and Mike Hudson of Scott City, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren - Realle and Mike Stapeles of Golden, Colorado, Ry and Katherine Roth of Larned, Kansas, Raven Roth of Lakewood, Colorado, Emily and Andrew Cordasco of Bangkok, Thailand, Tyler and Kelsey Hess of Scott City, Kansas, Bo Hess of Bangkok, Thailand, Lisa and Brayden Christie of Lubbock, Texas, Tawni Griffey of Overland Park, Kansas, Connor and Viktoria Griffey of Emporia, Kansas and Seven Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Brother - Richard Wheeler, Two Sisters - Loretta Wakeland, LouAnn Wheeler, and Grandaughter - Reanna Roth.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m Friday, September 4, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas, with Kyle Evans presiding.
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the First Baptist Church or Parklane Nursing Home, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm and again on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St, Scott City, KS 67871.
