Sandra S. Black

Sandra S. Black, 79, died March 16, 2018, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. She was born in Donaphin County, Kansas, on January 8, 1939 to Donald M. and Vetah Dyer Hoverson.  

Sandra attended schools and graduated from Agra High School.

On September 21, 1958, she married Scottie A. Black at Phillipsburg, Kansas.  They had two sons, Brian and Daryl.  He preceded her in death on November 7, 2005.

They moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1966, where they owned and operated Southwestern Business Systems for 40 years. 

She was a member of William Wilson DAR.  She moved to Norfolk, Nebraska in 2014 to be closer to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Scottie; son, Brian; brother, Donald A. Hoverson; and, brother-in-law, Ted Loyd.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Jacque Black of Winside, Nebraska; a grandson, Brandon Black of West Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughter, Lindsey Holkesvig and husband, Tom, of Hoskins, Nebraska; two great-grandsons, Michael and Hunter Holkesvig of Hoskins, Nebraska; sister, Donna Loyd of Overland Park, Kansas; sister-in-law, Janet Hoverson of Kensington, Kansas; sister-in-law, Deann and husband, Greg, Mock of Sabetha, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, Kansas.
