Shane Michael McBride, 55, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his home in Scott City, Kansas. 

Shane was born January 12, 1968 in Goodland, KS. He grew up on a farm outside of Indianola, NE. He served in the United States Army where he obtained his GED.

Shane married Shari Jones of McCook, NE November 19, 1988. Mutually separating in 2016. 

Shane worked as an oil field tester for Trilobite Testing for many years. His most recent employment was at Love’s Truck Stop in Scott City, KS were he enjoyed his coworkers and visiting with members of the community. 

Shane was a hard worker his entire life, overcoming many obstacles. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, listening to music and gardening. He was a man of many hobbies. Although he took great pride in both his daughters and was very proud of the life they built, his greatest joy was being Papa Shane to his grand babies, lighting up anytime he talked about them, and always had a picture to show. 

He is survived by two daughters, Santanna (Corey) Zeller of Colorado, and Shanea (Tyler) Kasperbauer of Iowa; 4 grand children, Mirabella and Landon Zeller, Maisyn and Collin Kasperbauer; estranged wife, Shari McBride of Colorado; brother Sean McBride of Nebraska; Father Jim McBride of Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and friends that were like family to him. 

He is proceeded in death by his in laws Jennifer & Michael “Mic” Jones; Step mother, Ida Mcbride; Brother, Shannon Warren McBride; a niece Sarah-Jean McBride; and his beloved dogs Sophie & Apollo. 

Per Shane’s request, no services will be held.
