Twilla M. Nickelson, age 78, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Wichita County Long Term Care Center in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on November 22, 1947, in Wellington, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard Jay & Barbara Marcellee Crow Clark. A resident of Leoti, Kansas, since 1966, having moved from Tribune, Kansas, she was a homemaker and worked at the Wichita County Treasurer’s Office.
She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Leoti, Kansas, the Wichita County Amusement Association, the Wichita County Health Center Board, the Wichita County Health Center Volunteers, the Thrift Store, and Neighborly Neighbors EHU, all of Leoti, Kansas.
Twilla always had a love of family, grandchildren & “Grandma’s Week” with the grandchildren. She loved gardening, genealogy, loved to travel, was an avid reader, and had a love of dancing, music, baking & cooking, especially her chocolate chip cookies and chicken & noodles.
On October 15, 1966, she married Dan Allen Nickelson in Tribune, Kansas. He passed away on November 11, 2020, in Leoti, Kansas.
Survivors include her sons - Mike and Diane Nickelson of Leoti, Kansas, Allen and Kim Nickelson of Penokee, Kansas, daughters Teresa and Kevin Clark of Leoti, Karen and Richard Carr of Junction City, Kansas, One Sister - Lexie Keigwin, Two Sisters In Law - Jerry Clark-Laneer, Lottie McLemore, Grandchildren - Ashley & Travis Geyer, Kelsie Diver, Dallas Pryor, MaKenna & Kory Peterson, Samantha Nickelson, Bryce & Hannah Nickelson, Kiersten & Brenden Hamit, Allison Nickelson, Jacob Clark, Joshua Clark, Wyatt Pryor, Abigail & Marcus Pfeifer, Zim Clark, Great-grandchildren: Ryland, Noah, Josie, Paxten, Kyra, Emily, Logan, Audrey, Quinton, Kendall, Bryson, Emmaline, and Eliza.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Grandson - Blake Nickelson, and One Brother - Nick Clark.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Trinity Fellowship Church in Leoti, Kansas, with Kevin Clark presiding.
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be made to the Wichita County Amusement Association or the Wichita County Health Center Volunteers in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 161, Leoti, Kansas, 67861.
Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 4th & J Street, Leoti, Kansas, 67861.
